‘Sàmhach’ means silence in Scottish Gaelic. The string quartet simply responds to the environment, wherever and whenever it may be.

Played by Tim Vincent-Smith on violin (Sink), Kate Young on violin (Songs of Separation), Mairi Campbell on viola (Pulse), and Atzi Muramatsu on cello (Lipsync for a Lullaby), this album was recorded to tape one winter afternoon in November 2015 by Douglas MacDonald at the Buccleuch Free Church, Edinburgh.
